IBL All-Star: Tuan Rumah Terbuka untuk Kota di Luar Jakarta dan Bandung

Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) All-Star 2026, which took place at Bandung Arena in West Java on Saturday (11/4), was a success. This success has opened up opportunities for collaboration between the league organizers and other cities besides Bandung and Jakarta. Junas Miradiarsyah, the CEO of IBL, mentioned that the concept of All-Star events will be further developed as integrated activities involving the host city in various aspects such as sports, tourism, and community participation.

The IBL All-Star event is not just about one day of games, but a collaboration platform to enhance the city through sports, culture, and community involvement. This initiative aims to develop sport tourism and create broader and sustainable economic and social impacts. The success of the IBL All-Star 2026 in Bandung serves as a foundation for a new approach to sports event development in Indonesia. Prior to 2026, Bandung also hosted the event in 2012.

The league is now not only focusing on the games but also promoting strategic collaboration with local governments. The future All-Star concept will be developed as a series of integrated activities involving the host city comprehensively, covering aspects of sports, tourism, and community. Bandung exemplifies how the synergy between the league and the city government can create broader impacts.

Supporting activities like car-free day activation and the IBL Goes to School program have successfully expanded the reach of the event. These activities have not only increased public enthusiasm but also strengthened the emotional connection between the league, players, and fans, especially the younger generation. Moreover, the All-Star event has brought significant economic benefits to the area.

Junas highlighted that sectors like hospitality, transportation, and culinary businesses experienced increased activities during the event. Local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) also benefited from the rise in visitor numbers and community activities. This has positioned the All-Star event as a driver of regional economy based on sports.

The collaboration between IBL and various cities for future All-Star events can potentially bring more positive impacts, not only in the sports industry but also in promoting local economies and community engagement.
