West Ham United’s coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, expressed his admiration for two substitute players, Thomas Soucek and Kyle Walker-Peters, after their squad secured a 3-2 victory over Burnley in the 2025/2026 English Premier League match at London’s Olympic Stadium on Saturday (8/11). Initially falling behind to a goal from Zian Flemming in the 35th minute, West Ham managed to equalize through Callum Wilson’s goal in the 44th minute. The turning point came when Nuno brought on Tomas Soucek in the 62nd minute, replacing Freddie Potts. Soucek scored in the 77th minute, giving West Ham a 2-1 lead. Shortly after, Kyle Walker-Peters replaced Crysencio Summerville in the 83rd minute, scoring a goal in the 87th minute to extend West Ham’s lead to 3-1.
Despite Burnley’s late goal by Josh Cullen in the 90+7th minute, West Ham held on to secure a 3-2 victory. This win marked their second consecutive triumph in the 2025/2026 Premier League season following a previous 3-1 victory over Newcastle United. The Hammers’ recent form is a positive sign after enduring five losses and one draw in the six league matches before facing Newcastle.
