Maxima Pictures, VLP Indonesia, and Ben Film are set to release a new religious horror film titled “Godaan Setan yang Terkutuk”. Directed by Fahmy J. Saad, the film explores mystical themes that resonate with Indonesian society, focusing on the practice of rukiah combined with the inner conflict and faith of an ustaz. Scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 15, 2025, the film features veteran action actor Donny Alamsyah in the lead role.
The story follows Ustaz Ahmad, portrayed by Donny Alamsyah, a religious teacher who has been performing rukiah for years to help people facing supernatural disturbances. However, his greatest challenge comes when demons start targeting his own family. Starting with his wife, the subtle disturbances gradually shift to their two daughters, posing not only terrifying but life-threatening threats. Amid spiritual and psychological crises, Ustaz Ahmad must face the harsh reality of performing rukiah on his loved ones.
The temptations come not only from external forces but also from within himself. As the disturbances escalate, his faith begins to falter, questioning the limits of his spiritual strength as a rukiah expert. Ustaz Ahmad’s struggle turns into a battle between faith and the invisible evil forces.
The film boasts a talented cast of Indonesian actors and actresses, including Donny Alamsyah, Poppy Sovia, Azela Putri, Aline Fauziah, Claresta Taufan, and Jefan Nathanio, adding depth and tension to the story.
