Manchester United (MU) coach Ruben Amorim pointed out the lack of creativity in the final third as the reason for their defeat to Nottingham Forest at City Ground. Amorim mentioned that despite pushing their opponents into the final third, the team lacked quality in finishing. This was evident in their 0-1 loss, where MU entered the final third 59 times but struggled to convert their chances, managing only 6 shots on target out of 24 attempts. This defeat marked their highest number of shots in a Premier League game without scoring since September 2021.
Amorim acknowledged the team’s improved attacking play but emphasized the need for more creativity in the final third to secure victories. Despite creating opportunities, MU’s inability to capitalize on key moments hindered their goal-scoring efforts. The coach highlighted the importance of delivering precise crosses and assists in the final third to increase their chances of scoring.
With this loss, Manchester United remained in 13th place in the standings with 37 points from 30 matches, while Nottingham Forest climbed to third place with 57 points from 30 matches. Forest continued their positive streak in the league, remaining undefeated in their last four games. Amorim emphasized the importance of enhancing their performance in the final third to secure better results in future matches.
